A LARGE police presence has been reported in Chapelford this evening, Wednesday.
A number of police cars are in the area as well as armed officers and a police helicopter.
Portland Road has also been closed 'as a precaution' with some residents being told that they 'can't go home'.
One resident also said they have been told by police to 'go inside for their own safety'.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police revealed the police presence follows reports of a disturbance in the area.
They said: "At 4pm this afternoon, Wednesday, November 9, police were called to flats on Portland Road following reports of a disturbance.
"Police supported by firearms officers and the police helicopter are making enquiries in the area.
"The road is closed as a precaution."
