HELP is at hand for the people of East Warrington this winter as a free wellbeing event will bring local organisations together to offer the best advice on how to ‘stay well’ during our frostiest season.
Fearnhead Cross Community Centre will be hosting the drop-in event next Wednesday, November 16, and has invited many trusted groups to offer support and advice on tackling the daunting hurdles many will face this winter, including health, well-being, money and debt, and keeping our homes warm.
Refreshments and soup will be served throughout the afternoon and the drop-in will be open from 12pm until 2pm.
With a fun game of bingo taking place at 1pm and a session of seated exercises also taking place.
Some of the organisations that will be there to lend a listening ear will include Warrington Wellbeing, LiveWire, Warrington Borough Council, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Warrington Disability Partnership.
And the NHS Health Check Bus will be parked outside the centre to provide blood pressure checks and health information for people who need it.
Event organisers, East Warrington Primary Care Network, hope the opportunity to speak one-to-one with health professionals and other services will help people within the community feel supported and armoured with knowledge for a potentially ‘difficult’ time of year.
Dr Rakhi Raj, clinical director of East Warrington Primary Care Network said, “We, East Warrington PCN, are delighted to work with our wider local partners and showcase this community event for our residents in Warrington.
“Winter can be a particularly difficult time but harder this year, for families, especially with the inflation and rising cost of living. This event will provide an opportunity to the residents in East Warrington to find out about local support offers, staying well this winter and how to access help from the right professional at the right time for the people of Fearnhead, Padgate, and Birchwood.”
