THIS shocking photographer shows the aftermath after a suspected drink driver crashed into a lamppost.
Officers attended reports of a one-vehicle crash on Whittle Avenue, Great Sankey, in the early hours of this morning, Sunday.
On arrival, the driver, a woman, told police officers that the fog had obscured her vision.
But Warrington Police said that this, paired with damp road conditions and that the fact that the driver was more than double over the legal limit for alcohol, led to the crash.
They also said the woman was ‘lucky’ to walk away from the crash.
She was arrested on suspicion of drink driving as a result.
"Thank God that lamp post wasn't someone's loved one. Absolutely zero sympathy for her!" said one Facebook user.
Another said: "Should be a lifetime ban as far as I’m concerned. That lamppost could have been someone’s loved one."
