While Halloween was on Monday and many may already be planning when to bring the tree down from the loft, we are not over some of the fantastic displays we have seen during the spooky season this year, so here are our top five favourites.

Our number 1 favourite haunted display is this projector, singing pumpkins, hanging skeletons mansion in Thelwall.

The beautiful home on Deans Lane was dripping in Halloween decs and homeowner, Andy Czyzewski, even went to the effort of installing eerie lighting, projectors and smoke machines to add to the atmosphere.

Andy created the display not only to entertain trick-or-treaters but also to raise money for Cheshire Dogs Home.

Number 2 on the list is the Great Sankey family home on Larkspur Grove.

The Platt family welcomed in trick-or-treaters from all over to enjoy the brilliant display put on by Lindzi Platt’s eldest son, George.

The family take it up a gear each year, with this year even including a roped walkway for people to follow while they check out all the scary decorations beginning with a 10-foot grim reaper in the front garden and ending with a surprise from a life-sized Mike Myers in the back.

And the family also raise money for charity each year, with this years donations going to St Rocco’s Hospice.

Our number 3 is an eye-catching display on Plumtre Avenue in Bewsey, a homage to popular tv show Stranger Things.

Emma McNicholas hand paints a theme each year in her front window and decorates accordingly with this year focusing on the famous Netflix show, with the iconic scene featuring character Max Mayfield.

Emma decided to pick Strangers Things as this year’s theme after her husband and son, big fans of the show, had been ‘mithering’ her for years to do one.

And she chose to paint Max as she explained the character looked quite like her daughter, Lola.

Coming fourth in our favourite spooky displays is this house in Bewsey.

Practicing witch, Becky Pennycook, went to new heights to create a terrifyingly realistic show for the community.

Becky is Halloween-obsessed and looks forward to celebrating the day every year, with this year’s display including a blood red skeleton, hundreds of spider’s webs, a grim reaper and a so much more.

And most of the props featured have been hand-made by herself for the occasion.

Finally, our fifth favourite Halloween house is located in Howley on Kerridge Drive.

Horror film fanatic, Scott Wardle, splashed more than £200 to make his house the scariest on the street.

Ghouls, spiders’ webs and gigantic inflatable pumpkins lit up the family home for weeks leading up to the day, with Scott also using a projector to create the illusion of zombies being trapped in the house.

And eerie music was also played outside of the house to really scare the neighbours.
