TODAY we can reveal the 20 winners of our Warrington Guardian Warrington Monopoly competition.

Last month Hasbro launched its new Warrington edition of the popular board game, after the town beat 19 other Cheshire places to win the honour.

And to celebrate the Warrington Guardian featuring on the board, we had 20 copies of the game to give away to our readers.

In our October 27 edition we asked you what traditional red square we had taken in the game, and the answer was Fleet Street.

The winners are:

Dennis Kinsey, Orford

Christine Nestor, Padgate

Gordon Gandy, Orford

Phil Geraghty, Paddington

Brian Hewitt, Winwick

Gaynor Naylor, Great Sankey

Norman Cosgrove, Lower Walton

Sarah Challinor, Lower Walton

Sharon Lester, Thelwall

Sheila Kelly, Orford

And on our social media pages we invited readers to tell us where their favourite place in Warrington is and who they like go there with.

The winners are:

Mary Hanks: “I am a carer for a 97-year-old lady and we love to go up to Warrington reservoir. She has walked up there most days and still continues to do so, she was the first health food stall in the market, so have taken her for coffee to the new one. She loves to reminisce about her days there, her father started Rigby dairies so we often chat about how the town has changed over the years.”

Anne Marie Molyneaux: “My favourite place is definitely Walton Gardens. Been going with my mum and dad since a toddler. So many happy memories and loved so much that we had our wedding reception there back in 1999. I have been taking my own children there since newborns including visits to Santa, the zoo, pottery in the park and of course the Thomas Train. The gardens mean so much to us as a family, we have even used it for a family photo shoot.”

Hannah Swindells: “I love taking my kids to go for a walk and play in Sankey Valley Park. Having a picnic down there and seeing what we can spot. Whether it be creepy crawly caterpillars, colourful kingfishers or waving to trains full of commuters going over the railway bridge.”

Georgina Finegan: “Parr Hall. Been to some great gigs there over the years, nights out with the husband and friends and girls nights. Bands, comedians, tribute acts have many good memories and hope to make more.”

Wayne Griffiths: “My favourite place to visit in Warrington is the Trans Pennine trail with Jade Scott walking the dogs or a day on the bikes.”

Adam Birchall: “I have a love/hate relationship with Ikea. Hate going with the mrs as she just loves to look round at pointless things and come out with 500 candles and plates…but gotta go through all that pain to get to the holy grail of hotdogs and meatballs!”

Carla Richards Booth: “Risley Moss in autumn with my 14-year-old son who loves nature, particularly during this season with its beautiful colours, so close to home, yet tucked away, you could be anywhere. His favourite game is Monopoly.”

Jenni Howell: “Bank Park. It gets a bad press but we're on there at least twice a day, come rain or shine with the dogs for the past 20 years...That's over 14,000 laps! (our own back yard in the urban sprawl).

Danielle Wharton: “There are a lot of lovely places in warrington but we love taking the kids into town when the makers market is on as there is something for everyone and even a lovely lunch out while we’re there.”

Debi Myers: “Has to be the Halliwell Jones Stadium to watch the Wire with my family, especially when we play Salford and we have a big family day, half Wire fans, half Salford – a big get together.”

Winners will be contacted individually.

Thank you to everyone who entered and keep your eyes peeled for more giveaways in the lead up to Christmas.
