A PERSON was taken to hospital after a crash on the M62 at rush hour yesterday evening, Monday.
Three fire engines from Warrington, Penketh and Prescot fire stations rushed to the motorway between junctions seven for Rainhill Stoops and eight for Burtonwood at 5.35pm.
This came after emergency services received reports of a crash on the westbound carriageway.
Firefighters helped the casualty from the vehicle and passed them to the care of the ambulance crew for medical attention.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed that a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and that a man was taken to Whiston Hospital.
Fire crews made the scene safe and were at the incident for around 45 minutes.
