ANTICIPATION is already building for the titanic Rugby League World Cup clash between Tonga and Samoa here in Warrington.
On Sunday, it was confirmed that the two Pacific Island nations would go head-to-head at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in a clash of two genuine contenders to win the tournament.
As well as the world-class stars on both sides going to battle, fans have also been getting excited about what might come before kick-off.
Before each of their games, both sides perform their respective country’s traditional war dance – the Siva Tau for Samoa and the Tongan Sipi Tau.
They join the Haka performed by New Zealand and the “Noqu Masu” hymm sung by Fiji as the kind of spine-tingling pre-match rituals supporters love to see.
Usually performed one after the other, the Samoa-Tonga clash at the last Rugby League World Cup saw the Siva Tau and Sipi Tau performed simultaneously with incredible results.
Will we see this again at The Halliwell Jones Stadium at the weekend?
