THE former landlord of a Warrington pub has moved his popular Halloween display to his new home.

Andrew Wharfe ran The Lower Angel in Warrington town centre for 12 years before moving to Rhyl in North Wales last year.

One of the highlights of the year was his annual display of Halloween decorations for charity.

It includes a trio of skeletons enjoying a drink, severed arms and legs, witches, and much more.

And they are now hanging up outside his new address.

Andrew is already thinking ahead to how he might decorate his house of Christmas.

He said: We used to have a pub in Warrington for 12 years, called The Lower Angel, and I used to decorate the pub every year, so I brought a lot of that stuff with me. People used to come from all over.

“I thought I’d decorate the front, because I’ve not seen any other bungalows (doing this).

“The amount of people walking past with kids, taking photographs, smiling and talking to you… it’s been really good.

“Hearing people say: ‘Can we go past that haunted house?’, or ‘I can’t wait to see what you do at Christmas!’, it does give you a boost.

“It probably took me a couple of hours to put it all together outside, and decorate all of the inside windows.

“I’ve not done it here before - we’ve been here for just over a year - but we used to do it all the time in the pub. I’ve got some plans for this Christmas, too.”
