POLICE dogs and the force helicopter were deployed in Warrington late last night, Thursday.
Officers were called to Firs Lane in Appleton at around 10.20pm following reports of a burglary.
After arriving at the scene, Police Dog Lex was able to detect a scent and recovered stolen items in thick vegetation.
Cheshire Police says its investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the police.
A spokesman for the force said: “Officers were called at around 10.20pm on Thursday, October 27, to Firs Lane, Appleton, following reports of a burglary at an address by an unknown offender.
“Patrols, supported by the police helicopter and dog unit, made a search of the area and recovered some items that were believed to have been taken from the property.
“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to report it to Cheshire Police.”

In a statement, Cheshire and North Wales Police Dogs added: “PD Lex worked more magic last night.
“He attended a burglary in Warrington, picked up a track through gardens and into fields where he located items from the burglary hidden in thick vegetation.
“All items were recovered for crime scene investigators.”
