POLICE have ordered a group of travelers to vacate land at a community centre in Padgate.
The group arrived at the Hawthorn Community Centre and set up a three-caravan camp, where they currently remain.
Cheshire Police has ordered the travelers to leave the Warrington Borough Council-owned site by midday tomorrow, Friday.
Police have ordered the group to remove their caravans and leave the community centre land under a section 61 order.
This type of order allows the council to pro-actively remove people from their land.
Other encampments have been established in both Padgate and Birchwood recently.
A court order has been obtained and served to the group in Birchwood, the largest group in Warrington at present with ten caravans.
The group in Padgate are on Lysander Drive with seven caravans, while the Birchwood group are on Ordanance Avenue.
