PAEDOPHILES, an offender who got stabbed after kidnapping a child and a knife-wielding robber were among the Warrington criminals brought to justice in October.

Every month, the Warrington Guardian takes a look back at some of the court cases that have been featured in the paper in the weeks previously.

Other defendants appearing during October included a boyfriend who stabbed a man with a screwdriver, a controlling bully and an established car thief.

CRIME: Two counts each of burglary and theft, as well as sole counts of handling stolen goods, possession of cannabis and fraudulent use of a registration mark.

The shameless burglar used blow torches to break into homes and steal high-end cars.

WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "I am dealing with a number of extremely serious offences committed by a young man who has already compiled a very unattractive list of previous convictions."

SENTENCE: Two years in prison suspended for two years

The offender ‘abducted a child’ and was then stabbed in the street in a ‘bizarre’ course of events.

WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “It is quite clear, given the nature of the offence, that there must be immediate imprisonment.”

The offender with previous for possessing weapons was caught with a baseball bat in the town centre.

The National Crime Agency caught the dad watching horrific videos of toddlers being raped.

WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "You have been remarkably open with the probation service about the fact that you were gaining sexual gratification from the material."

The teen was spared jail despite a ‘serious and unprovoked’ assault which broke the victim's jaw.

Two men were caught on a class A ‘drug run’ with heroin and cocaine in Warrington

WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “What is clear is that you, Mr Sibbick, and you, Mr Newman, were on a drug run from your home address in Grimbsy to Merseyside.”

SENTENCE: Newman was handed an 18-month prison sentence and Sibbick was handed a four-year and nine-month prison sentence

CRIME: Birchall pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and witness intimidation while Burgess pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to do so and having an offensive weapon in a public place

A Lymm girl called her boyfriend to threaten youths where he unleashed a terrifying attack, stabbing a man who suffered life-threatening injuries

SENTENCE: Birchall received a youth rehabilitation order and Burgess received five years and seven months detention
