PREPARATIONS are well under way for the Platt family’s annual haunted house walk-through to be open for the public to enjoy this Halloween.

Lindzi Platt from Great Sankey will open up her family home on Larkspur Grove once again for neighbours and trick-or-treaters to enjoy the terrifying haunted display named ‘Larkspur Dungeon’, which her eldest son George has spent weeks creating.

And each year the family aim to raise money for a good cause, with this year’s chosen charity St Rocco’s Hospice in Bewsey.

“Everybody in the area calls in and has a walk around, you get a lot of kids come and it is all good fun,” Linzi said.

The display will be unmissable with a 10-foot grim reaper stood in the front garden, ready to welcome guests in, as well as plenty of surprises along the way.

“Everything is going off, there are strobe lights, smoke machines and George has even got a projector to project scary objects onto the walls,” She added.Warrington Guardian: George Byron, 18, has had a 'passion' for Halloween from a young age.George Byron, 18, has had a 'passion' for Halloween from a young age. George, 18, studies media at Salford University and has had a keen ‘passion’ for the spooky season from being a child.

And he is going all out for the occasion this year with every inch of the house and garden designed to spook those who dare to enter.

“George is really creative, and he loves Halloween and all the horror movies. He always does a theme, and he has so much passion for it. The gorier the better.

“The hall has a pirate theme this year based on the maze at Alton Towers scare fest, we go every year. There will also be a life-sized Michael Myers in the back garden and George has hired a red rope to show the route of the walk-through.

“There will be a Larks Dungeon banner up and it will be on from 5pm until 9pm.”

In previous years the family have raised money for Macmillan, Dogs Trust and last year they raised more than £300 for the RSPCA.

“It is a great opportunity to raise money for a great cause. We just ask people to contribute anything they can,” Linzi added.
