THE town’s sporting scene has its place on Warrington’s very own Monopoly board, which was launched today.

As expected, Warrington Wolves has a spot on the board and should you land on it, you can “buy” The Wire for £160.

Right alongside them are Warrington Town FC, who are valued at £140, and club chairman Toby Macormac was delighted to see Yellows take up a spot.

“It’s a great achievement for us on a historic and timeless board such as this,” he said.

“I say it’s an achievement because it was the people of Warrington that voted for us in the public vote, which shows how many people in the town are behind us.

“It’s fantastic for the club and we’re really pleased with it.”

Both clubs occupy pink squares on the board – on a classic Monopoly board, they are occupied by Pall Mall, Whitehall and Northumberland Avenue.

Monopoly: Warrington is on sale now and it will be available at Waterstones, WHSmith and extensively online, including on Amazon and Booghe.
