A SCUBA diving centre will be opening in one of Warrington’s best-known buildings.

Palaemon Divers will be based in the Evans House Business Centre on Norman Street near the town centre – a building created by the Evans family more than 40 years ago.

Set over two floors, the new dive centre will be the first of its kind in the town and will feature a fully stocked shop offering a variation of brands, a classroom, and a compressor to provide air fills to both members and the public.

Palaemon Divers will also host a pool night each Tuesday, allowing visitors easy access to training nights whether they are beginners or experienced divers.

The firm’s move to Warrington is an expansion of its diving centre located on Princes Dock in Liverpool – which offers training and scuba experiences as well as a scuba club in which divers take part in monthly litter pick dips and trips across the UK and abroad.

The Warrington site is set to open in January 2023.

Director Leanne Clowes said: “We are really excited to open our second dive centre after the huge success of our Princes Dock site in Liverpool and cannot wait to introduce the Warrington community to the amazing sport that is scuba diving.

“We have been looking for a while where our second site would open and we have had our minds set on Warrington the entire time, so we are really happy to find our perfect second centre at Evans House Business Centre.”

David Evans, director of Evans House Business Centre, added: “We can’t wait to have Palaemon Divers on board.

“They will be joining an impressive number diverse companies that call Evans House Business Centre their base - from an Escape Room, to specialist fitness suites, craft workshops and a number of trades.

“Evans House Business Centre really is an excellent facility to visit.”
