POLICE are investigating an incident which saw a teenager attacked by strangers.

The assault is reported to have occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, near to the McDonalds restaurant on Winwick Road.

The victim is said to have been attacked by two men who were unknown to him, although he did not sustain any serious injuries which required hospital treatment.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone with any information which might aid the investigation to come forward.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 4.30am on Sunday, October 23, police were called to reports of an assault near to McDonalds on Winwick Road, Warrington.

“The victim, an 18-year-old local man, reported that he had been assaulted by two unknown men.

“The man did not sustain serious injuries and did not require hospital treatment.”

The force says that enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing, and anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting IML 1395198.
