A PILOT is on cloud nine after winning a prestigious police honour.

Euan Hendry was named ‘Special Constable of the Year’ at Cheshire Police’s annual Achieving Cheshire Excellence (ACE) Awards last night, Friday.

Euan is a commercial airline pilot and, in his spare time, volunteers as a police officer at Warrington Local Policing Unit.

Posting on Twitter, Superintendent Boland said: "Having worked directly and indirectly with SC Hendry on his journey since day one, this award is fully deserved.

"He is a hard working, dedicated and committed ‘career’ special and I am thrilled to have him here at Cheshire Specials."

On Twitter, Cheshire Specials said: “We are thrilled to announce Special Constable Euan Hendry was awarded ‘Special Constable of the Year’ at last night’s Cheshire ACE awards.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson.
