WOK’S cooking in Warrington celebrates its one-year anniversary this month since opening on Bridge Street in town centre.

And we paid the popular noodle bar a visit to get to know the face behind the brand.

Owner, Danny Lau, first moved to Warrington in the early 90s after emigrating from Hong Kong.

His love for cooking blossomed from a young age and growing up in a ‘culinary family’ encouraged him to 'share the joys of eating’ while tasting great ingredients and flavours.Warrington Guardian: Wok's Cooking serve up the food right in front of your eyes.Wok's Cooking serve up the food right in front of your eyes. Danny’s first food venture started with Westy Lane Chip Shop which he opened in Latchford and became ‘infamous’ for its hot curry sauce.

But his passion for cooking would only elevate further when opening the Asian style fast food establishment that has become a lunch time favourite for the community.

As we arrived to meet Danny at the restaurant, ques were already forming for the 12 o'clock rush, with many regulars announcing their choice of dishes by number instead of name.

Danny explained how the concept of Wok’s Cooking was born from the foundations of wanting to serve ‘traditional food’ using the ‘freshest ingredients’ with the added twist of seeing the food cooked right in front of your eyes.

“The success of Wok’s Cooking’s first year is down to the concept of fresh, fast, healthy food; the customer has the freedom to create their ideal noodle box, with any meat, veg and sauce they like.

“And each box is wok’d fresh by me and my team,” Danny said.

Not only does Wok’s celebrate its first birthday but Danny will also celebrate his own alongside it this month.

Expressing his gratitude for the eateries first year of success, he said: “I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who supports Wok’s Cooking. It feels wonderful to know that you all enjoy it as much as I do.”Warrington Guardian: Wok's Cooking serve up the food right in front of your eyes.Wok's Cooking serve up the food right in front of your eyes.
