POLICE have issued a warning to residents regarding rogue traders operating in Winwick.
Cheshire Police says it has received reports of men in the village doing door to door selling ‘vastly overpriced’ goods.
Officers have been told by residents that the men are ‘rude’ when told by households that they do not wish to buy anything.
Anyone who comes into contact with the men is asked to report it to police.
In an update, the force’s Burtonwood and Winwick Police team said: “We are receiving a few reports of males in the Winwick area selling door-to-door and saying they are ex-offenders, and that they have the chief constable’s permission.
“They do not have permission, and they are selling very overpriced items and are quite rude when told no.
“Close the door on them and let us know where they are via 101.”
