HERE is a first look inside Warrington’s newest food offering – and it is sure to be a big hit with meat lovers.
Deva Meathouse is now open following an extensive renovation of the former Coach and Horses pub in Sankey Bridges.
The historic Victorian building on Liverpool Road was bought by owner Sinan Uyar and his three business partners.
The restaurant is named after one of Sinan’s business partner’s daughters, and the word means ‘remedy’ in English
Deva, which employs 12 members of staff, had a soft launch on October 1, before hosting a grand opening on October 11.
It is the fifth restaurant run by Sinan and his partners, with three being located in his native Liverpool as well as one in Bolton.
“We decided on Warrington as a lot of our customers travel to our other restaurants from the area,” he explained.
“We did not want to be in the town centre, but as close to it as we could be.
“All the work we did ourselves, and we tried to recycle a lot of the material from the former pub.”
Once you enter the meathouse, you are greeted with black paint and a wood finish, as well as a natural look with plants throughout.
Among the items on the menu are of course steak, as well as chicken, burgers, kebabs, fish and vegetarian options.
Signature items include a 24k golden fillet for £150, which is 1kg of whole fillet wrapped with 24k edible gold leaf, as well as 1kg tomahawk and T-bone steaks.
Chefs come to the table in some instances to slice the cuts of meat for the customer.
“We have been so busy since we opened, and we are really happy with the reception,” Sinan added.
“People were curious, having seen all the work being carried out on the building for the past five months.
“Such has been the success that we are now looking at other potential sites in Warrington.”
There is also an outdoor area as part of the meathouse, where it is hoped BBQs can be hosted in the summer months.
