AN ‘obsessive’ stalker tried to contact her date 150 times in just a day after only meeting him twice.

Irina-Alexandra Resteanu also found out where the victim worked and told his employers he was a drug user.

Resteanu, of Dudley Street, Orford, appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to stalking involving serious alarm or distress.

Prosecuting, Nastassia McAdam told the court how the offences happened in July after the pair met on Bumble, a dating site.

Ms McAdam explained how they went on a first date in Warrington before going on a second one where they stayed in a hotel together.

After this, the victim told Resteanu, 22, how he couldn’t see her for a number of days.

But the court heard how she decided to contact him 150 times in just a single day after this before he reported her to the police and asked them to give her a warning.

She ignored this warning and attempted to contact him again before finding out where he worked and telling his employers he was a drug user.

Ms McAdam read out a victim personal impact statement where the man said he has felt ‘trapped’ as a result of Resteanu’s behaviour.

He claimed that he suffered psychologically as a result and that he was ‘worried’ about how bad her offending was going to get.

“It still plays on my mind every day,” he said.

Ms McAdam said that the defendant has no previous convictions.

Defending, Peter Green asked the court to take into account that his client has no previous convictions.

He said the offences took place over a ‘relatively short period of time’ and that Resteanu is ‘remorseful in relation to her behaviour’.

Concluding, the chair of the magistrates' bench said: “I bare in mind you have not been in trouble before.

“Your conduct was clearly quite obsessive.”

Resteanu was handed an 18-month community order, and must complete up to 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 80 hours of unpaid work.

She was also handed a two-year restraining order.
