A MAN from Warrington has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

Three other men have been charged following an investigation into threats made to occupants of an address in Blacon.

At 6.59pm on Tuesday, October 4, police were called to an address in Hatton Road in the Chester suburb following reports of a disturbance.

As part of ongoing enquiries into the incident, Cheshire Police has confirmed that four men were arrested.

A 40-year-old man from Warrington was arrested on Thursday, October 13, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries, while the other three men have since been charged.

Gerard Bailey, of Malvern Road in St Helens, was arrested on October 7 and later charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.

The 51-year-old appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court the following day and was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on November 4.

Jay Roberts, of Nelson Road in Ellesmere Port, was arrested on October 5 and was later charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The 30-year-old appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on October 7 and was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on November 4.

Anthony Moorcroft, of Eleanor Road in Bidston, Wirral, was arrested on October 12 and later charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The 52-year-old appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on October 14 and was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on November 11.
