TALENTED make-up pro and beauty salon owner from Appleton will represent the UK for a chance to become a world champion in semi-permanent make-up.
Kristina Bradley, owner of Kristina Bradley SPMU in Latchford, will compete in the world championships this coming week held in Turkey.
The competition will challenge participants from different countries to perform semi-permanent make-up over several different categories including lips, blusher and brows, on a model within a 2 and a half hour time frame.
The work will then be judged by a panel of professionals before announcing the winner.
Kristina’s passion for semi-permanent first sprang from a trip to a salon where she went to have her eyebrows tattooed for the first time.
After becoming ‘over-joyed’ by the results, Kristina decided to try and learn the skill for herself, with her training allowing her to travel to several places around the world including New York, Moscow, Miami and Austria.
And while her support network of husband, daughter and two Pomeranians cheer her on from their home in Warrington, Kristina is hopeful and excited for the competition ahead.
“I couldn't be any happier! This is something I thought was impossible to achieve. But I trained hard, and I watched online webinars every night and practice during the day on my models.”
"I am so nervous and so excited at the same time. I am honoured to be representing the United Kingdom. I practice all the time. Every time I have 2.5 hours free, I call for models and practice.”
The 36-year-old first opened her beauty salon in December last year but has been training in the specialised skill for more than four years.
And this isn’t her first rodeo after enrolling in the W.U.L.O.P. (The World Universal League of Permanent makeup) back in September which she ‘smashed’ and won first place in.
Kristina’s husband, David Bradley said: “I couldn't be any prouder! My wife has worked so hard to accomplish so much in a short amount of time.
“She won a one-week all-inclusive holiday to Turkey to a five-star hotel where the championship, congress and the conference of semi-permanent makeup will be held.
“As a first-place winner, she is going to Turkey to the world championships, representing the United Kingdom, to compete with the world's best. First place winners from all other counties will be under one roof for the chance to become a world champion.”
