A POPULAR Stockton Heath bar is set for a new expansion.

A new outdoor seating area will be built outside the front of Corks Out on London Road after plans were agreed by Warrington Borough Council.

It will be made out of reclaimed brick to match the rest of the building.

Plans also consist of installing new bifold doors in place of the existing window to allow guests to access the terrace.

A retractable awning would also be in place over the seating area along with new signage and the replacement of a sash window.

Outdoor eating is popular throughout Stockton Heath with venues such as Tomahawk, Piccolino and Expedition all boasting outdoor areas nearby.

The proposals follow opening time changes made by Corks Out in April this year.

Council planners agreed that the drinking spot can open until 11pm on Monday to Thursday, until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 9pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

However, if the roof is open on the conservatory, it will have to close at 9pm on Monday to Thursday, 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 8pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
