A 62-YEAR-old man who ‘attacked’ two people while armed with a hammer has walked free from court.
William Keenan, of Manley Gardens, Bewsey, was found guilty of two counts of assault and possessing an offensive weapon.
He appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court last week where he was handed a suspended prison sentence.
The offences took place on September 21 last year and court documents state that Keenan used a weapon to threaten and cause injury during an ‘unprovoked attack on two people doing their job’.
Keenan was handed a 24-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months due to ‘a realistic prospect of rehabilitation'.
He must complete up to 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days, pay £100 compensation to both victims, pay a £128 surcharge fee and court costs of £400.
