A FASHION illustrator from Culcheth is returning to Warrington following his remarkable successes in Paris.
Tony Green grew up in Bruche, and went on to graduate from Central Saint Martins London in 2010, before jetting to the French capital to make his mark.
The Warrington illustrator has worked with the likes of Selfridges, L’Oréal, and when he was just 22 he bagged a position at French fashion house Sonia Rykiel.
Now, Tony is heading back to Warrington to impart his wisdom to guests at Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, as he prepares to host a workshop at Warrington Museum.
The festival is being coordinated by Culture Warrington, and the aim is to give a platform to local and regional artists, across fashion, art, music and illustration.
Ahead of his masterclass, Tony said: "It’s the first time I’ve done something like this in my hometown.
"Because I’ve been away so much, I’ve never previously been in Warrington long enough to plan an event like this so I can’t wait.”
Tony will be giving playful 'no rulebook' advice, and describes the workshop as a 'spontaneous, playful and energetic workshop where the traditional rules of fashion illustration can be broken.'
Looking back at moving abroad at such a young age, Tony said: "Reflecting back, it was an incredible time. I went straight into work in Paris when I was 22.
"I went the opposite way to most people who have to work their way up. The mega job came when I was very young.
“I think when you’re that young you just get on with it and take it in your stride."
More recently, Tony has been working closely with the luxury lifestyle brand, House of Hackney.
He added: “They sell in Harrods and have a huge show space in Shoreditch.
"I’ve had pieces in there which sold out so that was exciting to have the attention and social media buzz from that."
The 34-year-old says that Warrington still holds a special place in his heart: "I feel the most creative when I’m in my hometown as it’s like I’m in my own bubble.”
The abstract fashion illustration workshop will be held at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery on Thursday, October 27, at 7pm - for more information visit Culture Warrington's website here.
