A BEWSEY gym has raised more than £3,000 to support a children’s hospice.

BodySculpt staff and members took on a number of running and fitness challenges, barbeques and bake sales to raise funds to support seriously ill children and their families at Claire House.

Ash Owen, who works at the Hoyle Street gym, had heard about the difference that Claire House makes to families and knew that Body Sculpt could be a ‘real help’ in raising vital funds.

Claire House Children’s Hospice supports seriously ill children by providing specialist nursing and end-of-life care – as well as emotional support.

“One of our clients has a personal connection to Claire House and after speaking to them, we knew we had to help and we have been proud to raise money ever since,” Ash said.

“We have done all sorts of different fundraisers - bake sales, long workouts, BBQs, long distance walks, mountain climbs - you name it.

“We’ve been doing it for about three years now to help support the children and families Claire House cares for.”

The money raised by Body Sculpt will help to fund a full week of one-to-one nursing care for a child at the hospice.

Harry Boshell, partnerships manager at Claire House, said: “Body Sculpt has continuously supported Claire House throughout the last three years of unpredictability in the world.

“Throughout Covid and the ups and downs of more recent times, they’ve constantly adapted and gotten creative with their fundraising, which has meant we can continue to be here for children and families when they need us most.”
