THERE are few better ways to welcome in the spooky season than with a trip to a pumpkin patch.
So we decided to pay a visit to Kenyon Hall Farm in Croft.
The family-run farm is hosting its annual Pumpkin Festival after planting 15,000 tiny seeds back in May.
Kenyon Hall Farm, on Winwick Lane, has been growing pumpkins since the 1980s and the popularity of pumpkin picking at the site becomes bigger and better each year.
Each year, families from across Warrington and beyond flock to the farm to enjoy the fields of pumpkins – of all different shapes, sizes and colours – to fill their wheelbarrows with.
And from huge spiders made from hay bales to giant pumpkin letters, the farm is full of Halloween decorations for visitors to take advantage of the ‘Instagram-friendly’ backdrops.
On-site there is also a farm shop filled with even more pumpkins and squashes as well as lots of local produce.
Owner Simon Bulmer, also known as Farmer Simon, said: "October is one of our favourite months on the farm as we welcome thousands of visitors to our Pumpkin Festival.
"We feel privileged to be part of family traditions as people come back year after year to make memories in the pumpkin patch.”
The Kenyon Hall Farm Café is also open every day serving up a selection of autumn favourites – including pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin soup and pumpkin cake.
Tickets are essential for the Pumpkin Festival and are selling fast.
The farm shop, indoor pumpkin display and café are open to the general public without a booking.
