TWO town centre roads will close during a weekend later this month while a major town centre building is demolished.

Warrington Borough Council has confirmed the demolition of New Town House, which started last month, will force the closures over Sunday, October 30 and Monday, October 31.

Driving will be banned on Cockhedge Way from its junction with Scotland Road to its junction with Orford Street and Orford Street from its junction with Cockhedge Way to its junction with Buttermarket Street.

Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via Academy Street, Mersey Street, Fennel Street and Brick Street.
