A PRIMARY school in Glazebury is dismayed after its minibus was stolen and trashed over the weekend.
Glazebury Church of England (Aided) Primary School, on Warrington Road, reported that its minibus was stolen on Friday (September 30) evening.
The minibus was taken sometime after 7pm, and was spotted speeding through a red light at the Pennington bypass, heading toward Lowton and Golborne.
Glazebury CE said that a number of CCTV cameras picked up footage of the theft, and there were two people involved in stealing the vehicle.
After a number of residents pulled together to report the incident quickly, the minibus was located on Monday morning, October 3.
However, the school said that the vehicle was found 'completely trashed.'
The thieves stripped had stripped out its engine and gearstick - the thieves also stole 15 new booster seats that were in the minibus.
Glazebury CE has also said that it will need to replace the school gates, as the minibus was driven through them when it was stolen on Friday night.
The school said that one pupil, a boy, said: "We are so kind, if they had asked to use our bus, we would have let them.”
Headteacher at Glazebury CE, Karen Mowbray, said: "Our children were really upset and we have talked about how the people who stole our bus didn’t think about how their unkindness impacts on others.
"Our Christian value is compassion and we don’t want to feel angry inside so we are going to let go of this feeling and forgive."
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 7:41pm on Friday, September 30, police were called to reports that a white Ford Transit minibus had been stolen from a school on Warrington Road, Warrington.
"Officers attended and made a search of the area.
"Enquiries are underway and anyone with any information or dashcam footage in relation to the incident is urged to report it via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML 1378418."
