A FAMILY festival in Fearnhead hosted in honour of late mum and cancer battler successfully raised £2700 for charity.
The Farmers Festival, which took place at The Farmers Arms pub on Fearnhead Lane, was a triumph for the second year running, with all the money raised going to Bewsey hospice St Rocco's and Dementia UK.
Many people turned out to the all-day event, which catered for families in the day with stalls, live entertainment and dance performances.
Some of the stalls that were set up for the event included Fearnhead Fragrance, BSpoke Bracelets, Oh My Goodies and The Crafty Jays.
More live music and a DJ set by the talented Jamie Brooks took place in the evening for adults to enjoy.
Local legend and Warrington Wolves mascot Wolfie could be seen entertaining delighted children who attended the event, all covered with bright colourful face paint.
Bouncy castles, football nets, craft stalls and fresh food from the pub were some of the exciting elements to the family day, not to mention the pony wearing a cowboy hat that received a warm welcome from the community.
The event presented a stage for local arists to showcase their talent with live performances from Brown Sauce, Kerry Sheree, State of Flux, Tilly, Queen B and Ciaran Raftery, tied up nicely with supporting commentary throughout the day from DJ Mitch Lears.
And a special performance from street dance group Independence.
A blow-up picture frame was passed around to allow attendees to capture a moment, with a note on that read 'in loving memory of Louise' as a reminder of why the event was taking place.
It was organised to remember Louise Hulme, a brave mother who fought a brain tumour for more than two years before losing the devastating battle last month, aged just 49.
Kelly Clarkson, one of the festival organisers, said the event 'could not have gone better', with more than 400 faces showing up to enjoy the festivities and remember Louise.
Kelly said: "It went better than we could have imagined, the weather was on our side, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The feedback we got from it was amazing."
Other organisers and contributors to the event included Amie Clarkson, Sandra Cooper, Julie Barker and Rob Cargill.
Louise's husband Kevin Hulme and their two children attended the event, along with her sister Beverley, and were extremely 'thankful' for the support and efforts shown on the day.
Kelly said: "They were so happy with how the event went and were so thankful for everything we had done.
"Louise was referred to and remembered throughout the day, it was a happy day but an emotional one as well.
"We are so grateful for all the help we received, including the company Alpine Hire who donated the generator for the day. That alone would have cost a few hundred pounds to run for the day so we are grateful for that."
Kelly also expressed her thanks to Claire Gamble from Warrington Wolves who arranged for mascot Wolfie to make his appearance.
As the day proved to be a success in raising money for both charities close to the heart of the community, there is potential for the festival to become an annual event in the future.
