Another good win for the boys on Saturday at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, and i think you'll agree it was a much improved performance from 1-17.
I think that's the best we have played this season as a team both in attack and defence. Defensively we was superb and i think that sent some signals to Wigan early on in the game.
I was a little disappointed in referee Steve Ganson because i felt he tried to slow the game down by giving to many penalties early on, but as the game went on it began to flow quite well.
I thought we controlled the game quite well and i think because we were dominating the tackle and controlling the floor in defence that helped us to get back quick and get our defensive line set. The forwards work really hard once again and Wigan couldn't handle our go forward once we had the ball and that enabled the half backs to take control of the game.
Chris Hicks impressed me again, he played really strong and his 100% no non-sense style of play is great to watch.
Paul Johnson's try in the second half was great to watch and the build up was great, I think that try took some skill to create and it was impressive.
Not only was that a great try but I think that point of the game gave Wigan to much to do.
We never looked like losing from that point and we possibly eased off a little and that's something we will work on.
Its always good to get a win against Wigan and there were some smiles on the faces of the players Monday morning in the gym.
Against Bradford Bull this week we can go into the game with plenty confidence after an impressive win last week.
Bradford have took a few more injuries and will be missing a few players, Glenn Morrison, Jamie Langley and Joe Vagana to name a few.
Although we will take confidence into the game we will also have to show Bradford plenty respect. They haven't got off to the best start to the season so they will be desperate for the win. When a team is wounded like the Bulls you have to take them with caution because the new guys coming into the team will want to impress, so if we go into the game thinking it will be easy it could be a disappointment.
We will have to work hard to get 2 points from Bradford but the guys have had a good start to the week and are look in great shape!
Conditioner Paul Stridgeon has had the team at Southport beach this week and although i didn't go myself through injury I have been told it was a decent workout! and the weather conditions made it tough.
Andy Bracek apparently turned up with his bucket and spade and was very disappointed when he was told they were going to the beach for training purposes!.
A win this week will mean a great start to the season so far and everyone is gearing up for a massive game and over the last few seasons, Warrington and Bradford have proved to be great games.
Bradford have a big pack and we will need to control them. Shontayne Hape always impress's me and i think he will be a danger on Sunday, we will need to close him down early in the game and try to stop his off loads.
Hopefully this week we will see Matt King back in the team after a nasty knock to the head against Wigan.
After the game he was feeling groggy with a little head ache and he had no recollection of what had happened to him, but he's a tough guy and he dealt with it well. It was a major blow for him but the good news is he his ok.
Matt was playing really well until he went off and I hope he plays this week to give the side a boost!
Again I hope you'll all make the trip to Bradford to cheer the guys on, its always a good atmosphere at Bradford and a good game of rugby.
Speak soon, Woody.
