A 29-years-old man has been charged with wounding after a teenager was left in a critical condition following a town centre attack.
The attack happened on Rylands Street at 2.45am on Friday.
Police say a fight took place between two groups of men which left the 19-year-old injured.
It is understood he suffered a punch to the head.
He is now in a "critical" condition in Warrington Hospital.
A 19-year-old and 20-year-old have also been arrested and are also speaking to officers.The 29-years-old will appear before magistrates on Monday.
