CUSTOMERS at a Bridge Street hair salon have been wowed by a teenage artist's canvas.
Edward Williams, aged 19, of St Alban Road, Penketh, has captured the view from N-Joi's window.
He has spent more than 45 hours perfecting the unique piece of work - combining a series of cartoons and music video inspirations to create a modern view of the town.
The Manchester Metropolitan University interactive arts student was approached by stylist Daniel Anderson, who was familiar with the former Penketh High School pupil's talent.
He asked Edward whether he would create a memory for the salon in the form of a painting for the rear shop wall.
The first year undergraduate, said: "I have never been asked (to do work) before, it's always been for my family or friends."
He added: "It's like a graphic painting. I stuck things from the real world on to it. I used photos from magazines and I got ideas from Paranoid Android, the Radiohead video."
Edward, who did the double A1 canvas painting for fun, said: "It was good because I met really great people, they are all cracking guys."
Daniel said: "It's really excellent. People are taken aback by it. It is quite dark and moody - it raises people's awareness about the violence in the town."
He added: "We are open to supporting a young artist - we are artists ourselves. It's the first time we have done anything like this but it's something we want to do more of."
The painting is for sale.
