CUSTOMERS and football fans have raised £1,000 for St Rocco's Hospice at their local pub.
Customers at The Famous King and Queen, on Padgate Lane, raised the money through Golden Goal competitions - which are football related raffles - and donations.
The pub even asked for donations to the charity instead of charging for tickets on New Year's Eve "It is our local number one charity and it does such a great job," said landlord Syd Johnson.
"We are already £100 into the next £1,000.
"They need all the help they can get," added Syd.
