COUNCIL bosses have announced they will pay for a new enforcement officer to help in a licensing crackdown.
Councillors put the extra money in this year's budget as a response to the rising worries about anti-social behaviour.
The officer will assist in the enforcement of bylaws associated with street problems, and make sure licensees keep to the terms of their licence.
The main objective for the officer will be to carry out on site inspection work - particularly in late evening and early hours of the morning and at busy times such as bank holidays and weekends.
Clr Ian Marks, council leader, said: "The enforcement actions are needed to create an environment within Warrington where all licence holders and prospective licence holders are quite clear about what the borough council expects from them."
