LIVERPOOL Reserves boss Gary Ablett was pleased with the performance of his senior players in Tuesday's 2-0 win against Manchester United at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Liverpool gave 90-minute run-outs to Xabi Alonso and Harry Kewell, while Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel each played 45 minutes.
Alonso and Kewell were both on the scoresheet and Agger, who was wearing special protective boots, appeared to come through unscathed on his return from a fractured metatarsal and could soon be in contention for first-team action.
Ablett was pleased with an attendance of 10,546 and said: "The crowd added to the game and I thought the attitude of our seniors was fantastic.
"I thought we maybe deserved to be one or two more goals in front by the time we scored the second to win the ground.
"We're really pleased with the attendance. Our public came out and the Manchester public came out as well.
"The idea was to give Daniel Agger maybe half an hour not 45 minutes.
"He came through the game and we'll just see where we go with him now from the medical people and the club doctor."
