A PENALTY from Xabi Alonso and a late strike from Harry Kewell gave Liverpool Reserves a 2-0 win against Manchester United in front of a bumper crowd of 10,546 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Tuesday night.
Alonso and Kewell completed 90 minutes for Liverpool in the Barclays Premier Reserve League (North) clash, while Daniel Agger was replaced at half time as planned by fellow injury returnee Martin Skrtel.
England international right back Gary Neville played 61 minutes for United on his return from injury before being replaced by Warringtonian defender James Chester.
More details and interviews will be in this week's Warrington Guardian.
