TRAVELLERS living on a site at Cartridge Lane in Grappenhall have appealed against a decision to block them living on there permanently.
Back in January councillors blocked plans for Tom Smith and his family to stay on land they had bought and moved onto last year.
Now an appeal has been lodged with the planning inspector in Bristol after the council issued an enforcement notice to throw them off the land earlier this month.
The appeal is likely to take place at a public inquiry, later in the year.
The application was originally turned down after highways officers said the site did not have good enough access because of trees blocking the exit.
Many of these trees have since been cut down although the borough council had also ordered a legal blocking order on any more tree felling.
