THERE were many delighted faces visible at Lymm High School Sixth Form as they collected their A-level results this morning, Thursday.
The scenes made all the hard work and effort worth it, according to proud members of staff.
Bright futures lay ahead for many pupils we spoke to, with exciting years to come studying at universities across the country.
Matthew Stow, for example, got four A*s in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics, and he will be studying physics at Durham University come September.
“I did not know what to expect to be honest and I was really nervous coming in,” he said.

“There was one exam in particular that was really hard, but I am really pleased with my results. I cannot wait to go to university now.”
Also ecstatic with his results was Jay Palombella, who was graded one A* and two As. He will be studying English at Cambridge over the coming years.
Emma Parkinson meanwhile received an incredible three A*s in sociology, English literature and history. Her future awaits at the University of Bristol studying law.
She said: “I am very happy with my results, but I thought I was going to be sick this morning.”
Thomas Lea was ‘absolutely made up’ with his three A* grades in English literature, business and religious studies, and he will be studying philosophy and literature at Warwick University.
Another happy face was that of Jack Powell, whose brilliant four A* grades mean he will be heading to London School of Economics next month.
Head teacher said he was proud and made up for all the pupils collecting their results.
He commented: “I am absolutely delighted for all these young people here today after what has been a particularly challenging couple of years.
“They have not had the experience of sitting examinations with their GCSEs due to the pandemic, so to get the results they have is fantastic.
“I am so pleased for them, and I am very proud of them for what they have achieved.
“It is difficult to compare when you look at the last couple of years due to the disruption, but from everything, we can tell that they have done extremely well again.
“I am delighted today to see the young people dancing around with their results with their friends and family, and it makes it all worthwhile.”
