LOVE was in the air as customers were serenaded in the aisles and given free chocolates in a supermarket on Valentine's Day.

Morrisons on Greenalls Avenue, Stockton Heath, went all out for the occasion by having three of their young, part-time, male grocery workers stand at the entrance of the store greeting females on their way in.

Two of the men dressed smartly and handed out Roses chocolates to all of the females who entered the store between 10am and 2pm, while the third played love songs on his guitar.

Receiving a great reception from customers, the supermaket intends to boost the atmosphere on other landmark dates.

Stephanie Scott, checkout supervisor, said: "It was a really positive morning, all of the customers really enjoyed it. We'll hopefully be doing more things like it."
