A NURSERY in Appleton Thorn has been praised for raising money to help a seriously ill boy get vital treatment abroad.
The Old Vicarage Day Nursery in Green Lane hosted a sponsored dance during its dancing tots class.
The children raised £470 from friends and family and the nursery itself, which is run by Philippa Ward, pledged another £130.
The money will go towards the appeal for Jacob Marsland, a five-year-old from Northwich who has a rare and aggressive cancer and needs £350,000 of treatment in America.
"I was amazed by the amount of money raised," said dance teacher Sharon Power.
She added: "And for the nursery to donate some extra cash itself was a really nice gesture."
