THE bereaved family of a man who died of cancer have honoured his wish to raise much needed funds for the hospital where he was treated.
Pete Boardman died aged 70 on January 22 at his home after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in the summer.
His family have presented the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology, where he was treated, with a cheque for £2,350 to help fund research into brain tumours.
"The kindness and generosity shown by his friends and family is a clear testament to the impact Pete had on many lives," said his wife, Wendy.
"He felt passionately that any monies that would normally be spent on flowers should go alternatively to where it will be of biggest benefit."
Mr Boardman was a former president of the Burtonwood Association and of Warrington Photographic Society.
Wendy thanked the staff at Clatterbridge and to everyone who donated money.
