PICTURES show the extent of a crash which resulted in a person being trapped inside their car.
One car flipped on its side as a result of the crash involving two cars at around 2.15pm this afternoon, Friday.
The incident saw firefighters fold down the roof and extricate the trapped person – before passing them into the care of the paramedics.
Wilson Patten Street was closed for a number of hours while emergency services – including police, fire and ambulance - dealt with the incident.
Two people were taken to hospital as a result with minor injuries.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We sent a rapid response vehicle and two road ambulances."
