AN author has achieved a second world-wide best seller in his Classic Superbikes collection
Frank Melling, Warrington born writer, takes his readers on another journey of ‘fantastic’ storytelling, featuring inside knowledge on the mechanics of some of the world’s most iconic motor bikes with his follow up novel “Classic Superbikes II”.
The accomplished motorcyclist’s newest venture will be the 34th in his collection of published books, with his work accumulating a total of more than 250,000 copies sold.
In this bike-lovers tale, Melling picks up from where he left off with 17 chapters exploring the very best and very worst bikes, he has had the pleasure of riding, ranging from the classic 1950’s BMW Grand Prix racer all the way to the ‘truly dreadful’ Ariel 3.
Each motorbike featured comes with a personal story delivered with ‘passion’ and ‘enthusiasm’ and exceptional images of the bikes in all their glory.
Describing the essence of his newest novel and the success of its predecessor, Mr Melling said: “In effect, they are bedtime stories for grown-ups all with very strong narratives, shed loads of anecdotes - and a lot of knowledge. I know my audience, and they know me, which is why they buy my books”.
He added: "I have been riding bikes all my life and it's particularly satisfying to bring my experience of these machines not only to riders of my age, who remember them, but younger bikers too who look at them and say, "Wow! They didn't actually ride those did they?".
Mr Melling who previously wrote for the Daily Telegraph’s Saturday Motoring column is now a well -recognised author and has also organised many racing events like the popular annual two-day event ‘Thundersprint’ hosted in Northwich.
“Classic Superbikes II” is now on sale for £8.99, both original and signed copies are available for purchase on Melling’s website frankmelling.co.uk
