WARRINGTON Wolves chiefs are preparing for a 10,000 crowd when Liverpool host Manchester United for a reserves title clash at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Tuesday night.

Dave Hutchinson brokered the deal that brought Liverpool Reserves to the town for the 2007/08 campaign and he knows a great event is in store.

Wolves' director of commercial development said: "This is a unique occasion for Warrington.

"We have two of the biggest clubs in the world playing in a competitive game of football, albeit at reserve level, in Warrington.

"And they also happen to be the two biggest supported clubs in Warrington.

"We've not had a reserve game at The Halliwell Jones Stadium since December and there couldn't be a bigger one to come back with, especially as Liverpool are riding high at the top of the league and undefeated since the third game of the season, while United have title ambitions themselves.

"It's a great opportunity for people to watch a great standard of football. It's often very difficult and expensive to get tickets to watch the Premiership but two basically international teams will be competing on the doorstep on Tuesday night, with the game kicking off at 7.30pm."

Average attendances for Barclays Premier Reserve League (North) games at The Halliwell Jones Stadium have far outweighed any other ground across the country and all four sides of the stadium will be open for the first time for a football match.

Hutchinson said: "Although there is no segregation as such, we have devoted the entire South Stand (standing) to Manchester United supporters and designated the West Stand terracing as the standing area for Liverpool fans.

"We think that will help to make for a great atmosphere.

"We have reserve seating in the North Stand, where tickets are selling well and could sell out.

"We have sold all the hospitality boxes for the game and quite a few places for the lounges. Anyone who would like corporate hospitality should contact the club on 248880."

Unreserved seating is also available in the East Stand, with ticket prices set at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.

Although there will be separate turnstiles for ticket and cash entry on the night, supporters are being encouraged to buy a ticket in advance.

Gary Ablett's Liverpool side were held 0-0 against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Monday but Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth showed good form and Argentinian Emiliano Insua stood out down the left.

Brian McClair and Jim Ryan's United team included Spanish defender Gerard Pique and exciting winger Chris Eagles, who have both enjoyed first-team experience at Old Trafford, when surprisingly ending a good run of form with a 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn last Thursday And United club captain Gary Neville could be due a return after making an initial comeback from injury in the reserves' 2-2 draw with Everton last month.
