JEWELLERY-making workshops are to be held weekly for beginners and for those more competent with their skills.
The two-hour sessions aim to raise the confidence of those who attend and provide them with a skill in bead and wire-work, with the chance to make and design their own beads.
Talented dress maker and designer Vicki Harrison said: "It is like a sewing bee, people come here to work but they can socialise while they do it.
"People can make emotional gifts that can be given as presents and they last for life."
Sessions start on February 21 at 1pm until 3pm at Newton Community Centre, Park Road South, and will last for 10 weeks.
Places are limited - for more information, contact Anne Keen on 224731.
An evening class will be held if there is high demand.
Additionally, a dress-making class will be organised at the centre if requested.
