THE family of a 34-year-old man who died after a car crash while out walking his dog has paid tribute to a man who lived life to the full'.
Ian Robert Tarry, from Orford, suffered serious head injuries after the collision with a silver Volvo on Poplars Avenue on Friday, February 8.
He was taken to Warrington Hospital and transferred to Walton Neurological Unit, where he died last Wednesday.
His nine-year-old Alsatian cross called Benji also died from injuries sustained in the accident, which happened around 6.45am.
A keen Manchester City fan, Mr Tarry had lived at home with his mother, who he was the main carer for, for about 10 years.
A spokesman for his family said: "Ian would walk Benji at least twice a day and always followed the same route along Poplars Avenue to Winwick Quay, then back along Poplars Avenue to his home.
"He also enjoyed taking his two nephews and two nieces out for walks and to the park. He enjoyed socialising with his friends in Warrington town centre and was known for his love of rock music with two of his favorite bands being Bon Jovi and Meatloaf."
Unemployed at the time of his death, Mr Tarry was trained in building and construction.
He leaves a girlfriend, his mum, sister, nephews and nieces, several cousins, an aunt and uncle.
The spokesman said: "He loved to help out and would do anything to help anyone.
"Ian will be sadly missed by all his family and friends."
The car was being driven by a 62-year-old man. He did not suffer any injuries.
Anybody who witnessed the collision can contact Police Constable Andy Hunt at Warrington Specialist Investigations Unit traffic section on 01244 613813/614819.
