A FIXED penalty notice has been given to a 35-year-old Newton man, who supplied alcohol to under 18s.
Police confiscated a large quantity of alcohol from a group of youths on Crow Lane on February 1.
Subsequent inquiries identified the man who was later charged with a disorder notice of £80.
Sgt Paul Hudson, from Earlestown and Newton police, said: "Under age drinking is an aggravating factor in violence and anti-social behaviour in our communities and we take it very seriously."
He added: "I would send out a strong message that not only is it extremely irresponsible for adults to buy alcohol on behalf of under 18s, they are breaking the law.
"Ignorance is not an excuse and we will take strong action against offenders."
