A GRAPHIC design student from Great Sankey has made it through to the final round of a national competition run by TV channel E4.
Phillip Swaine, from Park Road, is in his last year of a graphic design degree at St Helens College and has impressed E4 bosses with his e-sting - a 10 second advert to promote the channel.
The 28-year-old is now among the last 25 out of more than 1,000 entries for the competition, run annually, to find the latest designing talent.
He said: "My e-sting stars my twin brother, Paul, being attacked by an E4 fridge monster called eGOR and over the past month it has been shown throughout the commercial breaks on E4.
"I have entered numerous competitions without recognition so this time I took a different approach and jumped straight into the competition with a fun attitude, with the aim to enjoy the process and produce a funny and cheeky entry that made people laugh.
"I was ecstatic when I heard I'd reached the finals and still feel like it's not real.
"Just to get to the final is brilliant for my portfolio but to win something like this would be amazing, especially as it will mean working with E4 to create more e-stings!"
The competition has now gone to the public vote to find a winner who will get the opportunity to work with E4, designing more e-stings, and land prize money of £15,000.
To vote for Phillip's design visit www.e4.com/estings and head to the eGOR clip before 12pm on Friday, February 29.
