NATURE lovers needn't feel stumped for a Valentine's gift today.
Because they can impress the one they love and create a great excuse for a romantic woodland walk by dedicating to them their very own tree at Wheatacre woodland.
Couples are being encouraged to give the gift of green this Valentine's Day by dedicating trees with The Mersey Forest at the site off Gorsey Lane in Burtonwood.
For £10 you can dedicate a sapling and in return the object of your affection will receive a certificate, personalised with your message, along with maps to guide you both to the woodland site.
The scheme is run by Community Forests Northwest, the charity that supports The Mersey Forest.
Paul Nolan, Director of The Mersey Forest, said: "As well as being a fantastic Valentine's Day gift, dedicating a tree has real environmental benefits.
"Rather than chocolates which are gone in a day, a tree will live on, providing habitat for wildlife, cleaner air and a woodland for us to all enjoy."
Trees can be dedicated online at cfnw.org or a printed Dedicate a Tree leaflet can be obtained by calling Community Forests Northwest on 0161 872 1660.
